Training Facilities

 
Class Rooms:
There are 9 classrooms available in this institute. Each classroom can  accommodate 40 trainees.
 
Computer Labs
Computer training has been incorporated as a syllabus and training has been commenced from 117th intake (i.e., from 18.06.1999). 
68 Computers, One Laptop, 2 LCD Projectors, One Copier, one Laser Printer and 7 Dot Matrix Printers are installed in this Institute for imparting Computer Training to the Trainees  with funds provided by both the Central and State Governments.
One Lecturer in Computer cum System Analyst has been appointed to offer training to the trainees in Computer Applications. As per G.O.Ms. No.230 Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Training-I) Department, Dated 17.12.1999 one Computer Guest Lecturer post  has been sanctioned on consolidated pay with effect from 11.02.2000.
 
LIBRARY:


This institute has got a library containing more than  35,000 books out of which 29,000 books relate to various subjects taught in this institute, such as Service Rules, Financial Rules, Economics, Law etc. and about 1400 books are on general topics.

By introducing Computerised Library Management System in the existing Library, the trainees may be able to access the Library resources easily. Ready References Service will be possible. The trainees can download the training materials of various training centres and e-books. They can also get in touch with resources of other training institute library with LIBNET.

Hostel Facilities

New Junior Assistant Hostel:

A new hostel building at a cost of Rupees 1.32 crores has been constructed in 1997 and all the Junior Assistant Trainees are being accommodated in the new hostel building. 250 trainees can be  accommodated at a time as detailed below:

36 Rooms for male trainees (New Hostel)
30 Rooms for female trainees (New Hostel)
2 Dormitories (Avvai, Vasuki)

Total area of the new hostel building with kitchen and dining hall works out to 1252.60 Sqms. (i.e., ground floor for the Gents hostel is 494.60 Sqms., Ladies hostel is 503 Sqms. and kitchen with dining hall is 255 Sqms.) There are separate blocks for male and female trainees with additional toilets for physically handicapped trainees.


Hostel for State Service Officers / Deputy Tahsildars:

There are 9 cottages in a separate place to accommodate the officer trainees. Nearly, 50 officers can be accommodated in these cottages at a time. 

Catering:

There are two kitchens functioning in this institute. The main kitchen is capable of feeding 300 persons per day. It is attached with two dining halls, one for male and one for female. Another kitchen at State Service Officer’s wing is available. It is capable of feeding 50 trainees per day. It is attached with one dining hall.

Other Facilities

The Institute is housed in an area of 45.53 acres. Of which 16.53 acres are built up area and balance 29 acres are vacant land used for playground etc.

Auditorium (Tamilnadu Arangam)

There is one auditorium called "Tamilnadu Arangam". 500 persons can be accommodated in it at a time.

Water Supply:

The Bhavanisagar Town Panchayat is supplying drinking water to this institute and residential quarters. For other purposes including gardening three bore-wells and one pump-set (riverside) are being used. There is no water scarcity

Facilities for Faculty and Office Staff

There are 45 residential quarters available. All faculty members are provided with rent free quarters. The office staffs are provided with rented quarters. The Basic Servants are given rent free quarters.
